About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled API Platform Operations Engineer to join our team at Sun Life. As a key member of our API Platform Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our API platform, including infrastructure support, design, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Support: Provide full infrastructure support for the API platform on distributed platforms, including cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement infrastructure architecture, guide and support applications on the use of the products, and participate in the development of standards and processes.
  • Operations and Support: Participate in the operations and support of the Enterprise Event Hub with Kafka, API and micro-services, and identify defects in the platform modules.
  • Performance Optimization: Participate in designing, running, and interpreting performance and load-testing processes and implementing required optimizations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with business and technology partners to ensure effective implementation of new technologies that support API Governance and standardization across Sun Life.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in related IT areas, with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in application support and operations.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in implementing continuous integration and delivery solutions, working in AWS cloud, and good understanding of DevOps, Containers/Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Additional Requirements: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with Kafka/Confluent technologies, knowledge of REST API design standards, and good working knowledge of API design specifications like Open API Spec and RAML.
