About the Role

We are seeking experienced lawyers to join our Claims Department as Claims Counsel. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of files relating to claims against Ontario lawyers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of files relating to claims against Ontario lawyers.
  • Assist Insureds directly or retain and instruct external legal counsel as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Claims Department to resolve claims in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Insureds, external counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in law and regulations that impact claims handling.
Requirements
  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Current membership in the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in claims handling or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
