Position: Clinical Microbiologist Specialist

The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Microbiologist to enhance our Division of Microbiology, Virology, and Infection Control. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional laboratory services to pediatric and obstetric populations across the province.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will engage in providing comprehensive Medical Microbiology and Infection Control services. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the on-call roster for microbiology services.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure rapid diagnostic testing, focusing on bacteriology and virology.
  • Building strong relationships with healthcare professionals to deliver expert consultative services.
  • Contributing to academic teaching and research initiatives within the department.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and hold a Fellowship in Medical Microbiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an equivalent qualification.
