Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Head Cashier to join our team at J-Town By the Sea, Inc. As a key member of our retail store team, you will be responsible for overseeing the cash handling process, managing sales staff, and ensuring a smooth customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cash Handling and Management
    • Authorize payments by cheque and manage cash transactions
    • Count and reconcile cash at the end of each shift
  • Staff Supervision and Management
    • Assign sales workers to duties and supervise their activities
    • Establish work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Customer Service and Support
    • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner
    • Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience
  • Inventory Management and Control
    • Order merchandise and manage inventory levels
    • Authorize the return of merchandise and ensure accurate inventory records
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work in a fast-paced retail environment with frequent customer interactions
    • Stand for extended periods and perform tasks that require attention to detail
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail or customer service role
  • Equivalent experience may be considered
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions
  • 40 hours per week
