Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance English Language Instructor to join our team at the British Council. As a Freelance English Language Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language lessons to students of various ages and levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver English language lessons to students of various ages and levels.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to help students achieve their language learning goals.
  • Contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses and materials.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to teaching, such as maintaining student records and reporting progress.
  • Ensure that all teaching activities are conducted in a safe and secure environment, in line with the British Council's safeguarding and security policies.

Requirements

  • Hold a first degree (or equivalent) and a recognized English language teaching qualification, such as Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching English as a foreign language, with experience in teaching students of various ages and levels.
  • Have a high level of proficiency in English, with a CEFR level of C2 or IELTS Band 8+ in each of the four sections of the academic module.
  • Be able to work independently as a freelancer, with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to commit to a minimum of 15 hours of teaching per week, with the possibility of additional hours during peak periods.
