Role Summary:

The Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance is a crucial role that lays the groundwork for a rewarding and challenging career path. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including financial reporting, strategic business planning, valuation assessments, and forecasting. The incumbent will collaborate closely with finance team members, including the CFO, and various operational units.

Work Environment: This position is based in a hybrid model, with a combination of in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate consolidated financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis;
  • Lead the resolution of complex accounting challenges;
  • Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring timely preparation and approval of journal entries;
  • Coordinate with external auditors for interim and year-end audits;
  • Analyze and report on essential business metrics, linking operational and financial trends;
  • Assist the tax team with compliance for provincial and federal tax obligations;
  • Establish and monitor financial controls and procedures in accordance with IFRS;
  • Provide insights on process improvements and operational efficiencies;
  • Prepare analyses and reports for senior management to facilitate informed decision-making;
  • Support forecasting and business planning initiatives;
  • Contribute to the annual valuation process, reviewing models and long-term assumptions;
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operational performance.
Qualifications:
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA preferred) with a strong understanding of IFRS;
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting, including at least 2 years in a managerial role;
  • Experience in advisory or corporate finance at a reputable firm is advantageous;
  • Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a capacity to produce management-ready materials;
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a collaborative mindset;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Self-driven and proactive in managing workload and professional growth;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a commitment to continuous learning;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
