Job Summary

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch, working in concert with the Branch Director to drive overall branch profitability and meet strategic targets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership and support to Investment Advisors and support staff in hiring, training, and motivating. Assess performance, provide developmental opportunities, coaching, and feedback as required.
  2. Compliance and Risk Management: Clearly demonstrate effective management and supervision of all compliance issues and responsibilities on a daily basis.
  3. Communication and Coaching: Provide effective and consistent communication via weekly sales meetings, sales support meetings, and team meetings. Engage in high-performance coaching with each IA.
  4. Team Development and Motivation: Clearly demonstrate behaviours which motivate all employees for greatest results including personal development, recognition, and promotion.
  5. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Consistently seek opportunities to engage employees in improving the working environment within the branch. Develop actionable feedback for IA's and support staff, whether it is positive or corrective. Is willing to make tough decisions.
  6. Operational Excellence: Solve difficult problems effectively. Deals with the root cause, looks beyond the obvious, and doesn't stop at the first or easy answer.
Requirements
  1. Professional Qualifications: CSC and CPH, and ability to complete BM license within 3 months.
  2. Industry Experience: Retail Brokerage Experience with a minimum of 2 years Investment Advisor experience or similar experience.
  3. Education: Post-secondary Education (College or University).
  4. Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading a team, coaching, and developing and motivating others.
  5. Business Acumen: Demonstrated experience in dealing with ambiguity and managing multiple operations and servicing activities in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Collaboration and Communication: Ability to engage a diverse team that includes branch staff, middle office, and internal and external partners.
  7. Results-Driven: Experience in managing multiple priorities and in dealing with challenging and sometimes complex situations to drive success.
