Network Specialist

As a key member of the Network Engineering team, the Network Specialist plays a crucial role in the research, analysis, configuration, development, operation, and maintenance of a robust network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configuring, operating, and suggesting enhancements to the network.
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and implementing network architectures and topologies.
  • Monitoring and ensuring optimal performance of the network.
  • Collaborating with other operational teams to define business requirements for maintaining advanced systems.
  • Ensuring adherence to best practices through auditing and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, IDS, ISE, and monitoring solutions.
  • Supporting the setup, installation, and testing of equipment, including custom hardware platforms by field technicians.
  • Conducting regular network audits to identify potential risks and address them.
  • Escalating critical incidents as necessary while keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Testing custom network protocols and solutions in a dedicated lab environment.
  • Following established incident and change management processes.
  • Documenting networks, processes, and configurations.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in managing large networks.
  • Proficient knowledge of Switches, Routers, Fortigate firewalls, ISE, IPS/IDS, Web servers, and Linux.
  • A strong interest in and ability to learn new emerging technologies as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation schedule and weekend maintenance.
  • Ability to apply both industry standards and innovative solutions when necessary.
  • Intermediate knowledge in network automation.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCSP, CCIE, NSE, JNCIP-ENT are considered an asset.
