About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Omega Formwork Inc. as a Construction Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of construction and building projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to ensure precise fit and finish.
  • Build Foundations and Install Systems: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to create a solid structure.
  • Fabricate and Install Components: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the building envelope.
  • Conduct Site Surveys and Instruct Apprentices: Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy, and instruct apprentices in the skills and techniques required for the job.
  • Maintain and Repair Buildings: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Work in a variety of settings, including construction sites, factories, and offices, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
  • Physical Demands: Handle heavy loads, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering materials.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Possess a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, reliability, and a team player attitude.
