Physician - Primary Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic physician to provide comprehensive medical care in a walk-in clinic to unattached Calgarians and patients of other family physicians. Our clinic serves a diverse population, with a focus on addressing the unique health needs of low-income individuals and families.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide primary care to patients in-person and virtually.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including LPNs, mental health clinicians, and social workers, to deliver holistic care.
- Shadow bill for indirect and direct patient care.
- Participate in clinic and provider rounds.
- Assist with data collection and entry.
- Complete organization-wide training as required.
- Precept family medicine and public health residents, if desired.
- Member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
- Appropriate medical liability insurance coverage.
- Affiliation with a Primary Care Network (PCN) or willingness to join a PCN.
- Special skill sets are encouraged and preferred.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset.
- Understanding of the social determinants of health.
- EMR experience and Netcare proficiency are required.
- Up-to-date CPR training is required.
- Vulnerable sector criminal record clearance and child welfare intervention check are required.
- Knowledge of UNDRIP and TRC 94 Calls to Action is an asset.
- Willingness to work within anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks.
- The Alex Community Health Centre is located in Calgary, AB.
- 0.2 FTE, Fridays only.
- ARP rate is $0.45 per hour after overhead.
- No on-call or evening/weekend shifts.
- Minimum appointment times are 30 minutes, with the ability to book 60-minute appointments as needed.
- Locum coverage will be arranged for time off.
- Access to on-site lab/phlebotomy and in-house specialists.
- Administrative support for patient panel management and daily appointment flow.
