About the Role

As a key member of the Aspira Management team, the Assistant Director of Wellness and Care Services will play a vital role in promoting and ensuring standards of practice are achieved and evaluated. This dynamic leadership position offers the chance to engage in guiding a team, while also providing compassionate care to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Wellness to promote and ensure standards of practice are achieved and evaluated.
  • Complete all stable resident re-assessments in conjunction with the nursing team, and develop service plans and arrange resident/family care conferences as required.
  • Ensure resident care needs are assessed, and develop plans of care and determine corresponding care fees and staffing requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Wellness to schedule and adjust staffing levels to ensure consistency with the residence's occupancy levels, the acuity of the residents, and the services being offered.
  • Provide oversight and management of the Continence Care Program, including completing assessments, orders, sizing, and service transitions.
  • Oversee and supervise the medication administration program, including administering medications, completing audits, monitoring control, training of new team members, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
  • Coverage for Director of Wellness absences.
  • Manage Wellness Team onboarding and education requirements.
  • Develop professional and collaborative relationships with hospital staff, participate in marketing outreach, such as presentations on wellness services and aging in place philosophy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • An exceptional manager with a demonstrated track record of delivering results and continuously improving performance.
  • A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with a minimum three years' experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation, and/or senior health industry.
  • Good judgment, the ability to identify risk, and the ability to foster a positive work environment.
  • Strong technology skills in Microsoft Office suite programs.
