Job Title: Testing and Commissioning Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Testing and Commissioning Officer to join our team at Aecon Concessions. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and executing the Testing and Commissioning program for our rail transit systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support overall management of Testing and Commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate/produce Testing and Commissioning plan and procedures.
  • Coordinate Testing and Commissioning activities and site access.
  • Build the Testing and Commissioning team.
  • Support inspection and testing of rail transit system, including automated train control, telecommunications, SCADA, power distribution, and system integration.
  • Schedule and plan process for handover of assets from construction to Testing and Commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance, approval, and acceptance related processes.
  • Produce Testing and Commissioning Status reports and gather/maintain Testing and Commissioning evidence/logs.
  • Cover requirements all along the project, ensuring that testing provides a full coverage of correct implementation of the requirements: functional and safety requirements.
  • Liaise with project design groups, quality, project management, and other project teams in the context of Testing and Commissioning.
  • Review and approve the traceability matrix, in cooperation with other project stakeholders.
  • Assist in incorporating and overseeing site safety within all Testing and Commissioning activities.
  • Develop technical performance measurement markers and improvement processes to contribute towards Continuous Improvement.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and commissioning of rail transit systems on projects within the rail industry.
  • Hold a professional engineer license.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to rail testing and commissioning, maintenance, operations, and safety certification.
  • Experience with large, complex rail projects and Joint Ventures with multiple interfaces preferred.
  • Experience/familiar with the ISO/IEC/IEEE "Systems and software engineering — System life cycle processes".
