In this role, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you will collaborate with a skilled team of business and technical experts to oversee the planning and execution of diverse technology initiatives, including software and systems/solution development.

Utilizing your exceptional project management expertise, you will play a key role in refining our project management processes and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Project Managers by:
    • Creating career development plans for team members to support their professional growth.
    • Conducting performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
    • Balancing team capacity with incoming project demands to align with both individual and organizational objectives.
    • Reviewing project plans submitted by your team.

Program Management Duties:

  • In partnership with the Director of Program and Process Management, evaluate HCPO's capacity to meet immediate business requirements and long-term product strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for inter-project efficiencies and resolve resource conflicts to effectively address HCPO's needs.
  • Provide regular updates on project statuses to stakeholders.
  • Manage projects personally, dedicating approximately 50% of your time to individual contributions.
  • Influence project management strategies to ensure they meet diverse business needs.
  • Guide the project management team to deliver projects on schedule, within scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying new opportunities and leading implementation efforts.
  • Represent the HCPO team within the Project Management Community of Practice.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication regarding project progress with stakeholders, including the escalation of issues when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • BSc. in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Approximately 10+ years of experience in product development, project management, and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects effectively.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Experience in embedded software development.
  • Functional management experience.
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Microsoft Teams, Jira, and Confluence.
