Job Summary

As a Delivery Service Specialist at Metro Chaîne d'Approvisionnement Inc., you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer experiences through timely and accurate deliveries. This position requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a cargo van to conduct deliveries on predetermined routes, utilizing a GeoTab GPS system to ensure on-time and accurate delivery to multiple retail locations.
  • Adhere to strict documentation procedures, including manifests, signatures, and safety protocols.
  • Load totes with product into the van for delivery, ensuring product integrity and preventing damage.
  • Maintain a clean delivery van, perform daily pre/post shift safety inspections, and report any concerns or recommendations to the Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Logistics Coordinator to return damaged or stale-dated product, and transport unaccepted product back to the DC according to SOP.
  • Work with Customer Service and Logistics Coordinator to accommodate rush deliveries and changes to scheduled delivery routes.
  • Establish a positive relationship with retail customers by understanding client expectations, meeting daily commitments, and addressing or referring service concerns for priority resolution.
  • Adhere to established uniform requirements, maintain a professional image, and handle all client interactions in a courteous, customer-oriented manner.
  • Demonstrate and promote Metro's Our WAY values on a daily basis.
Requirements
  • Experience as a delivery driver in a time-sensitive, customer-interfacing environment is preferred.
  • Experience or comfort using an on-board GPS navigation system is required.
  • A valid "G" or "Class 5" driver license with a clean driver abstract is mandatory.
