Overview
The Logistics Engineering Coordinator is responsible for guiding the Logistics Engineering team to collaborate with internal logistics, ensuring that processes are designed, executed, monitored, and enhanced while adhering to health and safety recommendations and operational efficiency. This role also involves working closely with the supplier network to establish standard packaging and dimensions for new processes tailored to company requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in team leadership and supervision
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written

Skills and Certifications

  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient in project management
  • Experience in budget management and tracking
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
  • Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to enhance material handling efficiency and warehouse layout
  • Optimize processes within the Logistics Department, ensuring departmental objectives are achieved for PSP/DMAIC/OPS and IDEAs
  • Foster strong relationships within the engineering team and with internal logistics teams, aligning with company expectations.
  • Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with other departments and suppliers.
  • Ensure accurate codification of part numbers in SAP master data to prevent operational disruptions and inefficiencies.
  • Manage the procurement, assignment, and maintenance of mobile equipment and warehouse racking.
  • Oversee manpower calculations for budgetary and operational purposes.
  • Propose and design cost-saving projects focused on returnable packaging, ensuring the packaging fleet is well-maintained.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and ensure diligent follow-up, maintaining financial controls over OPEX, ODC, and CAPEX.
  • Lead the Logistics Engineering team in health and safety activities, including preventive and corrective measures.
  • Demonstrate leadership in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing the Quality Management System.
  • Promote continuous improvement and a customer-centric approach.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and manage information reports and statistical data as required.
  • Ensure the implementation and follow-up of company initiatives.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
  • Participate in fulfilling the Quality Management System requirements related to ISO standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols relevant to the role.
  • Complete all scheduled training related to Quality and Training in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report quality and compliance issues, supporting corrective actions.
