Mental Health Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at West Nipissing General Hospital. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide clinical mental health counselling and treatment services to individuals aged 16 and over.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical mental health counselling and treatment services to individuals aged 16 and over
  • Work in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify client needs and develop effective treatment strategies

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
  • 3-5 years' experience in clinical mental health counselling and treatment services an asset
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and MS Office applications
