Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in the Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine departments. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to laboratory testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory tests and analyses to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
  • Recent experience (3-5 years) in a core laboratory environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine.
  • Familiarity with routine automated equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Ability to work independently during off-hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
Working Conditions

Monday to Sunday; all shifts, weekends, and holidays (hours are subject to change based on operational needs).
