This facility is recognized nationally and internationally for its innovative approach to mental health and brain injury treatment. Unlike traditional hospitals, it offers specialized care tailored to individuals with complex mental health needs.
Program Overview:
The Seniors Mental Health Program focuses on comprehensive assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals, typically over the age of 65, who are experiencing psychiatric conditions such as dementia, mood disorders, and thought disorders. The primary objective is to assist each patient in achieving their highest level of functioning, facilitating their transition back into the community. Specialized programming is available in areas such as Mood and Thought Disorders, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and Specialized Dementia Care.
Your Role:
As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will play a pivotal role in delivering a wide range of nursing services aimed at promoting, maintaining, and restoring health and mental well-being. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing leadership in nursing care to patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
2. Educating, counseling, and advocating for patients to support their mental health journey.
3. Delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with the values of Alberta Health Services.
Compensation:
Provisional Permit Holders will receive a competitive hourly wage, with adjustments made upon registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in accordance with relevant agreements.

Qualifications:
1. Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program.
2. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).
3. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
