In this role, you will leverage your expertise to ensure that our requirements are meticulously defined at the onset of proposals and projects, guiding development teams to meet customer training goals effectively.

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse network of technical leaders, domain specialists, proposal teams, project management, verification and validation teams, and system architecture experts.

As a key member of the Systems Engineering team, the Training Solutions Specialist leads the following initiatives:

  • Define and/or assess project and customer requirements for D&S and/or civil training systems and devices.
  • Collaborate with various technical experts and management teams to ensure all requirements are clear, comprehensive, verifiable, and attainable.
  • Work alongside training solutions experts to validate that the technical requirements for a training device or system provide valuable training and fulfill customer objectives.
  • Coordinate and conduct System Requirements Review activities – both internally and with clients, including the allocation of requirements to engineering specialties and documentation of issue resolutions.
  • Partner with Proposal and Project Experts to ensure that risks associated with requirements are well understood and integrated into project planning and monitoring activities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the CAE requirements management and development process, in line with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) guidelines.
  • Oversee the Requirement Technician (RT) tasks related to data management and documentation in the requirements database.

As a member of the Systems Engineering team, the Training Solutions Specialist participates in the following activities:

  • Assist business development and proposal teams during the bidding phase to define and clarify training requirements.
  • Engage in the development of training solutions with Systems Architecture Specialists.
  • Support users of the requirements database during validation activities (tools, processes, etc.).
  • Aid in the ongoing assessment and updates of requirements management tools.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Sciences.
  • At least 5 years of experience in aerospace or simulation and training systems design and development.
  • Familiarity with systems analysis and design, particularly in requirements engineering methods and tools.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • Knowledge of various aeronautics and simulator systems (avionics, auxiliary systems, aerodynamics, motion systems, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience as a Project Expert (PE) or Verification & Validation (V&V) specialist is advantageous.
  • Understanding of requirements analysis through user cases is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with computerized requirements management tools such as Telelogic DOORS or DOORS NG is a plus.
  • Programming experience (C, C++, Java, VBA, DXL, etc.) is an asset.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to Controlled Goods.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance for access to sensitive documents and comply with relevant regulations.
