Your Role

To excel in this position, you will leverage extensive experience in leading projects and showcase a diverse portfolio that varies in scope and complexity, particularly in building and facility projects focused on institutional, healthcare, and educational settings. Experience as an owner's representative or within a professional services context across various sectors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate robust client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle to achieve strategic goals and aspirations.
  • Oversee a program of work and manage large-scale capital projects of varying sizes, scopes, and complexities.
  • Ensure that client expectations are consistently met or surpassed on all projects, representing the client's best interests regarding contractual and technical matters.
  • Facilitate client and project meetings while managing multiple stakeholders and communication channels.
  • Provide regular updates on project status through schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records, and other relevant reports.
  • Lead and manage the change management process, payment certifications, and other contract or project-related administrative documentation.
  • Supervise the organization of project-related documents and ensure all work aligns with our Quality Management System and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Project Leader, representing owners in the execution of building development and capital improvement projects for educational and other institutional clients.
  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or quantity surveying, or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various design and construction methodologies, project management frameworks, and financial management, along with building codes, contract law, and relevant legislation.
  • Advanced understanding of Project Management methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, coupled with the ability to effectively influence others and resolve a variety of client and technical challenges.
  • A proven history of delivering projects from the concept development phase through to occupancy and warranty reviews.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
  • Proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
  • ASP card.
  • P. Eng. or PMP designation is an asset; other designations are also welcome.
