Senior Firmware Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firmware Developer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge scientific dataloggers and ground motion sensors at Nanometrics Inc.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on firmware development for embedded systems.

About the Role
  • Design and develop firmware for our next-generation scientific instruments, ensuring high reliability, robustness, and minimal power consumption.
  • Collaborate with our team to solve complex design problems and integrate new technologies into our development projects.
  • Contribute to project management by providing status summaries, estimating effort, and identifying risk.
  • Mentor junior developers and share your expertise to drive innovation and excellence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience in embedded system development on embedded Linux and/or in an RTOS environment.
  • Thorough understanding of IP networking protocols (TCP, UDP) and application protocols (e.g. Websocket).
  • Experience with essential software development tools, including version control (Git), task tracking (Jira), automated test frameworks, deployment tools, and continuous integration.
Assets
  • Familiarity with the Rust programming language.
