Job Description >
The Head of Production plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service consistently.

This position supports the director in overseeing store management activities to optimize outcomes and collaborates with them to establish clear objectives and expectations for the management team.

This role acts as a facilitator and ensures consistency in personnel management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the complete production of meats, fish, seafood, deli items, ready-to-eat meals, cut fruits and vegetables, and baked goods to meet sales targets.
  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for the production department.
  • Manage sales forecasts and weekly production plans, ensuring they are regularly updated.
  • Review interdepartmental transfers and ensure proper execution while analyzing weekly expenses to enhance departmental profitability.
  • Implement strategies to prevent losses.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer regarding products and services to colleagues in production and other store departments to improve customer interactions.
  • Share insights about production and services, addressing customer inquiries and assisting them in making informed choices.
  • Utilize available reports to identify inventory opportunities and take necessary actions to optimize stock levels.
  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for the production function.
  • Oversee the training and onboarding of team members, ensuring they feel supported and empowered to meet expected standards, including through coaching and motivating staff during transitions.
  • Ensure the management team is trained to effectively train their staff.
  • Identify growth opportunities within and between teams for production staff. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Proven leadership in management, delegation, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of inventory requirements for production departments.
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Capacity to make quality judgments and decisions.
  • Ability to analyze financial and statistical data for informed decision-making.
  • Proficiency in reading planograms and layout sequences.
