Job Summary

The Enforcement Specialist will play a key role in ensuring compliance with Interac Corp.'s operating regulations. This position will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and making recommendations to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to general inquiries and provide guidance on regulatory matters
  • Lead investigations into allegations of non-compliance and provide recommendations for next steps
  • Provide interpretations of regulations to clients and other business units
  • Evaluate and track requests for waivers and/or temporary exemptions
  • Review transaction activity for regulatory reporting purposes
  • Provide training to junior staff on compliance processes and procedures
  • Present at client rule change consultation meetings and take minutes as necessary
  • Participate in the review of Annual Compliance Program submissions from clients and provide advice and guidance to junior staff
  • Organize and participate in the department's annual client event
  • Assist with administration activities, including maintenance of intranet pages and publication of regulation amendments
  • Promote effective collaboration with business unit owners and policy unit staff
  • Update internal compliance and enforcement process documents

Requirements

  • University degree (or equivalent work experience) and 3 to 5 years of work experience in compliance or policy
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize activities, and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Resourceful, organized, and possess good judgment
  • Strong writing, grammar, and proof-reading skills
  • Great research and investigation skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to collaboratively work with others to achieve a common goal
  • Ability to effectively train more junior members of the team
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to propose practical solutions
  • Commitment to excellence in client, shareholder, and stakeholder relations
  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity
