Global Equity Trading Developer- 12 Month Co-op Role

Scotiabank is seeking a talented developer to join our Electronic Execution Services group. As a Global Equity Trading Developer, you will be responsible for developing trading applications and algorithmic trading tools leveraging new technologies including AI and Deep Learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop trading applications and algorithmic trading tools using Python, JavaScript, and other technologies.
  2. Assist traders in day-to-day desk functions, including data analysis and market research.
  3. Work on full-stack projects for various internal trading desks, utilizing your skills in database management and software development.
  4. Create automated reports on trading activity for clients and internal use, utilizing your knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools.
  5. Design and manage databases containing market data and trade information, ensuring data integrity and security.

Requirements:

  1. Currently enrolled in post-secondary education, with a strong foundation in computer science and programming.
  2. Proficient in Python, JavaScript, and other programming languages, with experience in software development and data analysis.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Knowledge of the financial markets and trading systems, with a passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with traders, analysts, and other stakeholders.
