French Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic French speaker to join our team as a part-time French teacher/tutor/coach for elementary students at Oxford Learning Pickering.

About the Role:

As a French teacher/tutor/coach, you will work directly with students in a small group setting, providing personalized instruction and guidance to help them develop their French language skills. You will be responsible for teaching up to 3 students at a time, following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies, and maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching French language skills to elementary students
  • Providing personalized instruction and guidance to students
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes and completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 3-8 French core curriculum
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 3 to 8(or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong French skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
