Quality Assurance Manager

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to join our team. As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality processes within the hard rock division to enhance business performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Quality Process Development: Develop and implement quality processes to enhance business performance and customer satisfaction, covering internal and third-party engineering drawing quality and product quality.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate staff across different disciplines to plan and agree on comprehensive quality procedures.
- Root Cause Analysis: Establish a system to identify root causes and eliminate recurring issues, implementing visual quality across all business functions to drive efficiency improvements.
- Process Mapping: Map out quality processes accurately to ensure consistent practices among team members, identifying risks and opportunities in quality-related processes and developing mitigation strategies.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare productivity/quality reports for management and enforce a strong product quality program from proposal to project closeout, implementing project closeout processes to integrate lessons learned.
- Inspection and Release: Manage the company's inspection and product release programs for incoming/in-process materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quality policy, company standards, regulatory, and external standards.
- PPAP Oversight: Oversee the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for designated parts.
- Quality Functions: Oversee quality functions like inspections, analysis, and training, making final decisions on non-conforming materials and monitoring employee adherence to quality standards.
- ISO Compliance: Align quality processes and tools across North American Underground Hard Rock production facilities, leading the ISO program by ensuring compliance with standards, coordinating audits, and driving continuous improvement.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant overall experience with 5 years specifically in Project Management or Quality, within a manufacturing or industrial related environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in quality, Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- Certifications: PMI Project Management or 6S Quality certification preferred.
- Skills: Significant knowledge of supply chain management and quality processes, fluent with ISO quality standards and models, technical aptitude, and good understanding of hydraulic and electrical system design.
- Soft Skills: Ability to take broad business concepts and apply them to specific practical work processes and documentation, good problem-solving and analytical skills, high attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
