Backend Developer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team at The Scalers Ltd. As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure of our web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the frontend development team to design APIs that align with the frontend components.
  • Develop and maintain efficient and reliable PHP Laravel backend systems.
  • Build RESTful APIs for smooth communication between the frontend and backend.
  • Implement data storage solutions, including databases and caching mechanisms.
  • Write clean, modular, and reusable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Ensure the security and data protection of the backend systems.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend-related issues and bugs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in PHP, Laravel, and API Integration.
  • Strong understanding of database design and management.
  • Experience with unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with frameworks such as Laravel, CakePHP.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS such as MySQL, SQL.
  • Exposure to cloud hosting and auto-scaling.
  • Unit testing experience with PHPUnit, PEST.
