About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Best Western Plus Merritt Hotel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and compliance.
  • Food Quality and Safety
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of quality and freshness.
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment for our guests.
  • Administrative and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for our culinary team.
    • Prepare and submit reports, highlighting areas of improvement and success.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
    • Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with guests and staff.
  • Work Environment
    • Fast-paced environment, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
