Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher On Call to join our team at Seabird Island Band. As a key member of our instructional support team, you will provide coverage in various subjects and grade levels, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary teaching team to deliver high-quality education to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support: Provide instructional support to students in various subjects and grade levels, ensuring that instruction meets the learning and development needs of a diverse student body.
  • Classroom Management: Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Review, analyze, and evaluate student academic, social, and emotional growth, providing regular progress reports to parents and guardians.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain and enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Certification: Current practicing British Columbia (BC) Certified Teacher qualifications.
  • Experience: Solid knowledge of and demonstrated ability in addressing a wide range of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of children of intermediate ages.
  • Cultural Competence: Knowledge and respect of Stó:lō culture, traditions, and language is considered an asset.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
