We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Wyndham Edmonton Hotel & Conference Center. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel's physical environment is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Industrial Equipment: Safely operate industrial vacuum cleaners, power sweepers, and other equipment to remove debris, dirt, and other refuse from the hotel's premises.
- Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and ensure that all areas of the hotel are kept clean and free of litter.
- Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including washing windows, interior walls, and ceilings, as well as making adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on industrial equipment, including power tools, carpet cleaning machines, and snowblowers.
- Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or spills, and take prompt action to resolve the issue.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
- Work Setting: Hotel, motel, resort
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to work under pressure, perform repetitive tasks, and lift heavy equipment and supplies
- Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced hotel environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
