Director of Mechanical Engineering

Go2STAFFING is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead the mechanical engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in mechanical design, product development, and team leadership, with the ability to drive projects from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set team goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure team members are meeting professional and company expectations.
  • Oversee resource allocation, project timelines, and budget management to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of engineering projects.
  • Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, software engineering, manufacturing, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components in products.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the design and development process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in the areas of mechanical design, materials selection, thermal management, and structural analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering, materials science, and manufacturing technologies to drive innovation within the team.
  • Work closely with senior management to define the mechanical engineering strategy that aligns with the company's long-term goals.
  • Develop and manage relationships with external vendors, partners, and industry experts to leverage external expertise and resources.
  • Ensure all mechanical designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the highest levels of product quality and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in leading mechanical engineering teams through the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, thermal analysis, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
