Software Quality Assurance Intern

We are seeking a self-motivated and results-focused software engineer intern/co-op student to join our Software Quality Assurance team at BlackBerry.
Job Description:As a Software Test Specialist, you will be responsible for validating our Enterprise UEM Portfolio, which includes backend server and mobile device clients. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Defining and executing test cases to validate the UEM product (OnPrem and Cloud) and UEM Client functionality
- Analyzing and debugging logs, inspecting database inputs and payloads to help with verifying product functionality and understanding failures
- Logging defects for test failures using a defect tracking tool and verifying defects when fixed
- Inputting test results from test execution in our test case repository
- Working closely with the QA team, developers, and product owners to ensure product functionality is working as expected
- Enhancing and developing UEM server and UEM Client automated test cases as required, leveraging existing automated test frameworks
- Enhancing and developing test scripts to help support day-to-day validation
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution/program in a computer-related field
- To be available to work for an 8-month/12-month term (September - April/August)
- To have a good understanding of server OS, databases, desktop OS, and mobile OS
- To have familiarity with automation testing tools and frameworks
- To be able to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks, learn, and contribute to the team and perform well-defined tasks
- To be self-motivated, able to take initiative, and work well individually and as part of a team
- To have strong attention to detail, strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
