Job Overview

Position Summary

Propak Systems Ltd. is a recognized leader in the engineering, fabrication, and construction sectors, specializing in gas compression, processing, and Heavy Oil facilities. We are currently seeking Labourers to support our fabrication operations in Airdrie, AB. This is an entry-level role where candidates will be evaluated for their potential and readiness for apprenticeship training.

We provide flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends, with attractive premiums for evening and weekend work. Our weekly schedules typically consist of four 10-hour days, with opportunities for overtime. Propak offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a company-matched group RRSP. Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute general tasks related to maintenance, material handling, clean-up, and basic tool and machinery operations within fabrication facilities.
  • Manually or using powered equipment, transport materials and tools.
  • Support tradespeople and other personnel in the fabrication shop.
  • Operate under close supervision, adhering to established procedures.
  • Under direct supervision, may operate basic hand and power tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
  • Perform warehousing, tool crib, or janitorial tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols within the fabrication environment.
  • Transport raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Sort, pack, crate, and package materials and products.
  • Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers as required.
  • Carry out additional labor and basic tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience as a laborer in oil and gas fabrication.
  • Experience assisting pipefitters, welders, electricians, insulators, painters, etc.
  • Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the use and maintenance of equipment or basic hand and power tools is advantageous.
  • Experience in warehousing is a plus.
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement, and a Confidentiality and Invention Agreement upon hire.
