As a Lead Technical Animation Specialist at Ubisoft Montreal, you will be instrumental in guiding game development towards success through your expert insights, support, and strategic planning. Your role will significantly impact the overall vision and technical viability of projects, while mentoring a team of creators towards achieving excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with core team members to establish project vision and evaluate technical feasibility
  • Assess game design concepts and identify potential challenges
  • Work closely with programmers to refine animation tools and workflows
  • Provide technical assistance and mentorship to animators, designers, and riggers
  • Educate team members on tools and techniques, and advocate for process enhancements
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and validate solutions
  • Conduct post-mortem analyses and suggest optimizations for animation content and technology
  • Engage in team recruitment and support professional growth

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 7 years of experience in animation, rigging, or programming
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Expertise in game engines, 3D software, scripting languages, motion capture, and state machines
  • Degree in 3D Animation, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Excellent communication, mentorship, time management, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with bug tracking and version control systems
