Job Description

**Airport Manager, Puvirnituk Airport**

The Administration régionale Kativik is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Airport Manager at Puvirnituk Airport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient management of airport operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Manage Airport Resources**: Oversee the day-to-day operations, safety, and serviceability of all airport facilities, including air carriers, general aviation, tenants, and the public.
  • **Implement Airport Programs**: Develop and administer programs to ensure safe and secure airport operations, including stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • **Provide Leadership**: Lead and support assigned staff, including Airport Maintainers, Electrician, and Mechanics, in executing their duties and ensuring understanding of their responsibilities.
  • **Ensure Compliance**: Ensure that regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to airport operations are followed to maintain compliance.
  • **Emergency Response**: Manage the airport emergency response plan, liaise with responding agencies, and tenants.
  • **Safety Management**: Work with the Coordinator Regulatory Process to maintain the Safety Management System, setting goals and objectives, investigating Occurrence Reports, and completing Corrective Action Plans.
  • **Regular Inspections**: Conduct regular inspections of airports in accordance with applicable regulations, standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • **Financial Management**: Review invoices, recommend payment approval, and follow up with suppliers as necessary.
  • **Training and Development**: Work with the Training Coordinator to identify training needs, develop training plans, and materials.
  • **Travel Management**: Work within the Travel Management System for all travel requirements for assigned staff.
  • **HR Support**: Provide support to Coordinators of Operations and Administration in the Transport Department.
Requirements
  • **Education**: University degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • **Experience**: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in an airport-related field. Minimum of two (2) years of employee supervision will be considered an asset.
  • **Skills**: Experience with project management and report preparation, preferably in the transportation industry. Knowledge of airport Safety Management System. Proven abilities in planning, organizing, and problem-solving with quality decision-making skills. Good communication and writing skills in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, or French. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • **Work Environment**: Ability to work independently. Work experience in a multicultural environment, preferably in Aboriginal communities, is considered an asset.
Benefits
  • **Cost of Living Differential**: Minimum of $10,033/year.
  • **Food Allowance**: Minimum of $5,270/year.
  • **Annual Leave Trips**: Maximum of 3 per person, annually.
