Job Details

Position Overview

Collaborate with Data Architects and stakeholders to comprehend business needs, formulate data definitions, establish business rules, ensure data quality standards, and develop both logical and physical data models. Support the implementation process within the data platform by partnering with data solution architects, fellow data modelers, and data engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the creation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Evaluate and design data architecture components (data models, mappings, data flows, transformations, interfaces) to ensure seamless integration with the overall data and technical architecture. Facilitate data mapping from source to target; manage and prepare data models for various components of the data platform. Acquire in-depth knowledge of the underlying data assets and products, providing expertise on content and its current and potential future applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret and translate analytical and reporting needs into well-defined data models, driving projects to completion with data engineers. Engage in the development of a modern Data Warehousing approach and Business Intelligence Platform to enable self-service, machine learning, and model development. Stay informed about security requirements and implications, ensuring adherence to established standards. Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in data warehousing, data management, and business intelligence within large-scale data management systems. Strong technical knowledge of data modeling, design, and architecture principles across master data, transactional data, and derived data. Proficient in designing, creating, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Solid understanding of data modeling for OLAP and OLTP systems. Familiarity with data profiling, integration, and modeling from diverse source systems, including Web APIs. Hands-on experience with relational, dimensional, and analytic data modeling using RDBMS, dimensional, ETL, and data ingestion protocols. Experience in extracting business rules to develop transformations, data lineage, metadata, and data catalogs. Working knowledge of data integration from various sources, including MySQL, SQL Server, and Web APIs. Commitment to documenting all design decisions using data modeling tools.

Preferred Experience

Exceptional communication skills (both in-person and remotely) with the ability to articulate complex information and designs clearly. Openness to collaborating with remote teams across different time zones.

Preferred Technical & Professional Expertise

Familiarity with Azure services (Azure MySQL, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory). Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Data Factory). Logical and physical modeling expertise on SQL Server databases. Background in ETL processes. Experience with DevOps practices. Exposure to Python is a plus.
