Your Role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our British Columbia Team.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will have the chance to collaborate with industry leaders and refine your skills across a diverse array of projects that vary in complexity and scope within the British Columbia business unit.

To excel in this position, you should demonstrate experience in supporting projects of varying complexities, particularly in building and facilities projects within healthcare, education, and commercial mixed-use sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with seasoned project managers to understand the essentials of client satisfaction and effective project delivery across a variety of private sector projects.
  • Assist Project Manager(s) with project support tasks, including updating schedules, preparing progress reports, and drafting tender and contract documents.
  • Participate in the on-site organization of contractors and consultants.
  • Attend project and site meetings to document action items.
  • Facilitate communication between Project Manager(s) and contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Provide support on additional projects as time permits.
  • Ensure project activities adhere to Colliers Project Leaders' Quality Management System.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management consulting, contributing to the delivery of projects in construction, engineering, or architecture. Relevant experience may include internships, co-op programs, or summer work terms.
  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or construction management, or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience.
  • Familiarity with building codes, contracts, regulations, construction administration, and ethical standards.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A client-focused mindset with strong customer service abilities.
  • Proven ability to cultivate positive relationships with both internal and external project team members.
  • Highly collaborative, demonstrating a willingness to assist others, learn, and take on new responsibilities.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Actively pursuing PMP certification.

Compensation

The approximate base salary range for this role is $60,000 CAD to $80,000 CAD. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, reflecting the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries. Individual pay is influenced by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are available in addition to base salary.
