We require a proficient mechanic to assess, repair, and service the Menzies fleet of vehicles and associated equipment, adhering to company and manufacturer specifications while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receives service requests and gathers necessary tools for repairs.
  • Safely transports vehicles to the service area, utilizing driving, towing, or pushing methods.
  • Vehicles may include tugs, forklifts, pay loaders, fuel trucks, and other large airport machinery.
  • Conducts inspections of parts and vehicles to identify defective components.
  • Performs repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Procures replacement parts and executes repairs as needed.
  • Repairs may involve the rebuilding of assemblies and systems.
  • Collaborates with supervisors for complex repairs requiring guidance or parts ordering approval.
  • Completes service orders and updates the status of ongoing work.
  • Ensures operations are conducted safely and securely, adhering to the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Additional tasks may include battery, tire, oil changes, and other minor maintenance duties.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certified Mechanic with 310T and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy-duty diesel and automotive machinery.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Must possess personal tools and demonstrate safe operation of various power and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational procedures, and maintenance manuals.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Clean driving record with a certified copy of the Driver's Abstract.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary security clearances.

Shift Availability:

Summer Schedule: March-November 11:00-23:00 (11am-11pm)

Winter Schedule: November-March 16:00-04:00 (4:00pm-4:00am)

Required Qualifications:

Proficient in operating personal tools and various power and hand tools safely.
