Position Overview
Port Hawkesbury Paper is seeking a qualified professional to become a vital member of our Maintenance team. This role focuses on the upkeep, repair, and diagnostic assessment of production machinery and facility systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosing and replacing electrical components including motors, transformers, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Identifying issues and replacing parts in programmable logic controllers (PLC) and distributed control systems (DCS).
  • Installing and troubleshooting field devices such as limit switches and transmitters.
  • Maintaining and upgrading lighting systems throughout the facility.
  • Conducting electrical isolation tests for safety lockouts.
  • Responding promptly to service requests from various departments.
  • Availability to work shifts, overtime, and participate in after-hours emergency calls.

Qualifications:
  • Educational background in Electrical Engineering Technology with a focus on Instrumentation and Controls.
  • Possession of Red Seal Electrical certification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial systems.
  • Experience with DCS and PLC programming.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Familiarity with 600VAC motor circuits and VFDs.

  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex control systems using DCS/PLC.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities related to electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Highly driven with effective communication and organizational skills.
