Position Overview
Port Hawkesbury Paper is seeking a qualified professional to enhance their Maintenance department. This role is centered around the upkeep, repair, and diagnostic evaluation of manufacturing machinery and facility systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosing and replacing electrical components such as motors, transformers, and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
  • Identifying and replacing parts in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Distributed Control System (DCS) frameworks
  • Installing and troubleshooting field devices including limit switches and transmitters
  • Maintaining and upgrading lighting systems throughout the facility
  • Conducting electrical isolation tests for safety lockouts
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests from various departments
  • Availability for shift work, overtime, and emergency call-ins

Qualifications:
  • Educational background in Electrical Engineering Technology, particularly in Instrumentation and Controls
  • Possession of Red Seal Electrical certification is advantageous
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing context
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintenance within an industrial environment
  • Familiarity with DCS and PLC programming
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Experience with 600VAC motor circuits and VFDs

Essential Skills:
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a safe manner
  • Expertise in diagnosing complex control systems utilizing DCS/PLC
  • Strong analytical skills for resolving electrical and mechanical issues
  • Self-motivated with effective communication and organizational abilities
