Job Title: Inuktitut Translator and Interpreter

Job Summary:

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (La commission scolaire du Nunavik) is seeking a highly skilled Inuktitut Translator and Interpreter to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective communication between our stakeholders and the Inuktitut-speaking community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate translations of documents and interpret at meetings to facilitate efficient communication in Inuktitut and either English or French.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement language strategies that promote the use of Inuktitut in our educational services.
  • Contribute to the development of language resources and materials that support the learning and teaching of Inuktitut.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in written and spoken Inuktitut.
  • Fluent in either English or French.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able and willing to travel upon request.
