Job Title: UXO Technician

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is seeking a skilled UXO Technician to join our team. As a UXO Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe clearance of unexploded ordnance and military munitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Search for and identify UXO and military munitions by type, physical characteristics, and condition.
  • Excavate subsurface UXO and transport explosive materials over authorized routes.
  • Prepare firing systems for destruction operations and operate personnel decontamination stations.
  • Assist in inspecting material that potentially presents an explosive hazard and properly store explosive materials.
  • Escort personnel who are not directly involved in UXO-related operations but have activities to perform within exclusion areas.
Qualifications:
  • Retired CAF members of one of the following trades: Ammo Tech, Combat Engineer, Clearance Diver, or Air Weapon Tech, with EOD training (HA qualified) or;
  • Graduate of a formal (University, College, or Institute) UXO training course.
Position:
  • Seasonal/Contract – approx. 40 hours a week
  • Per diems and travel allowance when applicable
