Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new mechanical systems and prototypes. Your expertise will be crucial in driving innovation and improving our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop 3D CAD models of mechanical systems and parts for new equipment
  • Identify improvements to be made on production lines to increase safety and efficiency
  • Develop solutions to improve production processes
  • Support the implementation of new processes and technologies
  • Validate designs, calculations, and simulations
  • Perform tolerance testing of mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Analyze and solve technical problems
  • Optimize current equipment to increase production efficiencies
  • Prepare test bench marking
  • Procure parts and negotiate with suppliers
  • Participate in the physical assembly of equipment and prototypes
  • Supervise and mentor other engineers and designers
  • Participate in project timeline and budget building

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or design
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineer-in-training (EIT) or member of the OIQ (Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast turnaround environment
  • Excellent expertise in SolidWorks
  • Innovative mind and ability to work as a team
  • Previous experience with conveyor systems
  • Availability to travel occasionally in Quebec, Ontario, and the USA (20% of the time)
  • Bilingual English/French – spoken and written (English is necessary to serve our customers in the USA)
  • Previous experience or knowledge in welding, machining, or other metalworking will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the concrete industry will be considered an asset but is not required
