Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is seeking a skilled Program Leader to lead recreation, arts, special needs, aquatics or sports programs for various age groups in a recreational setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead recreation programs for diverse age groups, promoting a fun and safe environment.
  • Develop and implement program plans, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality programs and services.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to participant needs and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 10.
  • Previous experience in leading recreation activities or a specific skill is an asset.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates.
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
  • Understanding of age-appropriate programming for participants in a recreational setting.
