The Counsel will assist the VP-Chief Counsel for Global Marketing & Media, collaborating with the global Marketing and Consumer Experience teams. This role is pivotal in steering initiatives that pertain to global marketing digital evolution, creative strategies, media operations, production, technology, and digital content projects. Additionally, the Counsel will engage with various departments including global Marketing, Consumer Experience, Procurement, Mondelez Digital Services (MDS), and brand equity teams, ensuring cross-functional collaboration on marketing, media, brand strategies, social media, digital commerce, MarTech, Gen AI, and related domains.
The role will also support the Corporate & Legal Affairs Department by developing strategies and providing leadership on global agency agreements and brand initiatives, focusing on risk management and mitigation. Responsibilities include creating templates, global frameworks, policies, and training, as well as drafting, negotiating, and overseeing global contracts related to marketing, media, marketing technology, data, Gen AI, digital commerce, and social media. The Counsel will execute all responsibilities in a manner that safeguards the Company's interests and maintains the integrity, reputation, and assets of the organization while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer legal counsel, contract support, and strategic leadership to the VP-Chief Counsel Global Marketing and Media, addressing issues related to global and multi-regional marketing, media, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with ISC and Global Marketing and Consumer Experience teams, focusing on procurement and stakeholders involved in global marketing initiatives.
- Engage with MDS on agreements, projects, and Gen AI initiatives.
- Participate in the Global Marketing & Media Center of Excellence, ensuring effective service delivery related to marketing, media, and technology.
- Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts, policies, and legal documents associated with global marketing and media.
- Manage NDAs and ensure confidentiality in partnerships.
- Provide tools and support for executing global marketing and media projects, including risk management and best practices.
- Curate and distribute a monthly newsletter for the Global Marketing Legal Community of Practice.
- Oversee the organization and execution of team materials related to the CLA Knowledge Management tool.
- Resolve disputes with commercial partners regarding marketing and media, taking a leadership role in project management.
- Identify training needs and develop training programs in areas related to global marketing, media, technology, and digital initiatives.
- Keep stakeholders informed of significant legal developments that may impact the business.
- Develop strategies to ensure global standards and policies are understood and applied within the Company.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution and licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in intellectual property, marketing, and media law.
- Strong management skills and business acumen with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent research, writing, and strategic thinking abilities.
- High level of professional integrity.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-legal audiences.
- Experience with social media, marketing, media, and commercial transactions.
- Prior experience in the consumer packaged goods sector is preferred.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
- Exceptional problem-solving and project management skills.
