Job Summary

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Field Design Coordinator to support our client, CityWest, in the delivery of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) projects. As a Field Design Coordinator, you will play a critical role in providing critical field design and detailed addressing information to the design, project, and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field work to survey and document existing utility and infrastructure assets, including poles, water, sewer, culverts, and bridges.
  • Mark up desktop FTTH designs to ensure accuracy and adherence to CityWest build methodologies and permit authority requirements.
  • Capture detailed home counts and associated addressing, including multi-dwelling units (MDUs), within a build area.
  • Ensure all design markups are accurate and up-to-date, consulting with the design, project management, and construction teams as needed.
  • Create and refine community address lists as the project design develops and pass on the completed lists to the project department.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, processes, and procedures based on industry best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver regular project status update reports to Management and key stakeholders.
  • Attend and contribute to Project Management and other CityWest departmental meetings.
  • Travel to project locations as required, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • Certificate or associate degree in drafting, surveying, or a related field, or sufficient job experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of telecommunication experience, preferably in FTTH project delivery.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Google Earth Pro, and GIS systems using ESRI ArcMap products is an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to review and understand FTTH construction plans.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
