About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Medicine Hat Care Community Ltd. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting a sense of well-being and comfort.
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving, ensuring patients receive nutritious and appealing meals.
  • Monitor and report patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring patients are safely moved and positioned.
  • Participate in patient care planning, working collaboratively with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, and Health Care Aide Certificate.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position, working 35-40 hours per week in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be working in a nursing home/home for the aged setting, providing care and support to patients in a rural area.
