Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager of Health Services, Mental Health, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides expert psychiatric and emergency nursing care to patients with complex health needs. This includes delivering independent nursing services, administering medical treatments, leading within the healthcare team, and coordinating patient care across various settings.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in both the Emergency Mental Health pod and Inpatient Mental Health units, as well as non-monitored areas of the Emergency Department.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Administer medical treatments and medications according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and assessments.
- Advocate for patients' rights and well-being, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
Qualifications & Skills
- Recent experience in Psychiatric and/or Emergency Nursing is essential.
- Successful completion of the WRHA Emergency Level 1A and WRHA Mental Health Education programs is required.
- Current CRNM registration is mandatory.
- Active participation in professional associations is highly encouraged.
- CURRENT BLS CERTIFICATION AT THE HEALTH CARE PROVIDER LEVEL IS REQUIRED.
