About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the Senior Fundraising Officer will play a crucial role in our Advancement team, focusing on the effectiveness of our fundraising initiatives.
As a leading organization in the field, AFP Golden Horseshoe Chapter is dedicated to supporting fundraising professionals through education, advocacy, and networking opportunities. Our goal is to foster a community where fundraising is recognized as a vital component of social change.
Position Overview
Department: Development
Reports to: Director of Development
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fundraising role
* Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge or similar CRM)
* Experience in a non-profit environment with a solid understanding of the donor lifecycle
* Background in educational institutions is an asset
* Relevant degree or diploma in fundraising or a related field
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Donor Relations
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Design and manage the annual giving program to maximize donor engagement.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential mid-level donors, executing tailored engagement strategies.
- Create compelling communication materials that resonate with our community and inspire support.
- Assist the Director of Development in major gift fundraising efforts, including prospect research and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Community Relations Director to enhance alumnae engagement and fundraising initiatives.
- Engage community members in meaningful ways to strengthen their commitment to our mission.
- Oversee the development of annual publications, including impact reports and donor recognition materials.
- Foster relationships with donors, alumni, and community members to encourage philanthropic contributions.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising metrics to ensure targets are met.
- Act as a representative of AFP Golden Horseshoe Chapter, showcasing professionalism and commitment.
- Promote a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism within the community.
Development Support
- Assist in organizing Development and community events.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in the donor management system.
- Work collaboratively with the Development Team to enhance cultivation and stewardship efforts.
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate effective communication.
- Utilize various platforms to create engagement opportunities with stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
