DUTIESThe Open Learning Faculty Member will engage students in a comprehensive exploration of sustainable building methodologies, including:
- Analyzing and comparing different green building rating systems to understand their applicability in real-world projects.
- Examining the historical context and evolution of sustainable building practices.
- Discussing critical factors such as climate impact, building dimensions, energy modeling, third-party certifications, and life cycle assessments.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting up administrative processes and maintaining accurate records.
- Establishing and sustaining regular communication with students as outlined in institutional agreements.
- Addressing student inquiries promptly through appropriate channels.
- Evaluating assignments and providing timely feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Administering examinations and communicating results effectively.
The anticipated student enrollment for this course is estimated at 0-5 students annually, subject to change based on various factors.
QUALIFICATIONSCandidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- A valid Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or Building Technologist designation with a minimum of five years of experience, complemented by LEED AP or LEED Green Associate certification.
- Proven experience with green building rating systems, particularly LEED.
- Active engagement in the subject matter through research or teaching scholarship, with a record of disseminating findings in relevant academic forums.
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess in-depth knowledge and experience in sustainable building practices.
- Have undergone training or possess proven experience in facilitating collaborative online learning.
- Be adept in utilizing current educational technologies and Learning Management Systems.
- Demonstrate effective pedagogical strategies in the application of educational technology.
- Exhibit skills in delivering flexible learning materials and applying adult learning principles.
